Contesting Real Estate Valuations

Contesting Real Estate Valuations:

By now, you should have received your current real estate tax bill.  As you may know, in Ohio real property is reappraised every six years and real property valuations are updated every three years.  For those of you in Montgomery County, you may recall the tentative valuation notices that were sent out in the summer of 2014 as part of this reappraisal process. Real Estate ReviewNow is a good time to review your current real estate tax valuation to consider if the valuation established by the County Auditor is indicative of the fair market value of the property.  If you believe the valuation established by the County is higher than the fair market value, there is a process to follow to contest your real estate valuation.  The filing deadline for this process is March 31, 2016.

Please contact Real Estate Attorney, David H. Montgomery to understand how to contest your Real Estate Valuation and review your property information, and if warranted, assist with filing a Complaint Against Valuation of Real Property regarding your 2015 real estate taxes.
